Valentina and André are a delightful couple. Genuine, in love, spontaneous: the kind of people who make you participate in their event as a guest rather than as a technician. From the moment of the pre-wedding meeting, a bond was created perfect feeling.
When planning the service, I explained to them the various moments of the wedding, agreeing on the times and places of the photographs. The spouses opted for a civil union in one of the places I love to photograph the most: the Maschio Angioino.
My clients have chosen the most essential package possible, reflecting their shyness and desire to simple and genuine memories. We agreed to only have a photo shoot at the ceremony and party, without video or other accessories. Then I reassured them: no poses, just stories to create together.
For the rest, the day promised well on the calendar: a wedding at the end of April, in late spring. The week was sunny. Except that Friday, when the deluge broke out and messed up our photoshoot plans, which we had imagined outdoors.
No big deal. We brought home an unusual, spontaneous and delicate tale.

The ceremony at Maschio Angioino
The vision of the colors of the bride's dresses already suggested to me the recipe to create in post-production: delicate, warm, nostalgic and elegant shades. For each wedding I create a personalized post-production and I had no doubts about this from the very first moment.
The ceremony was short, but heartfelt and profound.
To add a very delicate touch at the moment, in addition to the music played by Valentina's relatives, there were the two readings at the end of the wedding: first one in Portuguese, from André's relatives, then a poem by Erri De Luca from Valentina's father. Finally, the party in front of the castle.
A beautiful moment that will continue in the Kora Club.

The photo set
Valentina and Andrè are very young and, like almost all modern couples, they don't like classic and posed photos. Usually for this kind of situations I try to suggest to the spouses places that are not crowded, where create the right harmony and chat with them, while I take pictures. In this case, however, the rain played against us: it was impossible to move around the city without ruining the bride's beautiful dress and without getting stuck in traffic, taking away precious minutes from the set and the ceremony: so we chose the opposite road, namely the Galleria Umberto and then the Galleria Principe.
The first is one of the monuments of Naples: very crowded, even more so with people sheltering from the rain. Chatting with the newlyweds, I reassured them. And together we created a very special shot, of two young lovers who isolate themselves even in a huge and noisy crowd of Naples at midday.
Then we opted for the Galleria Principe, usually not very crowded and well sheltered, just 10 minutes from the more famous one. Here we found our golden moment, helped by the regular architecture of the monument and the love of Valentina and André, who created smiles and caresses as beautiful as their character. Exactly what I was looking for. Now let's run away to the party.

The ceremony – Kora Club, Baia
Here the show was made by the groom: being a professional musician, he could not resist the call of his instrument and, in the middle of the lunch, he began to play with his band, inflaming the guests. I made an unusual choice: a black and white photograph for the groom. Usually I avoid b/w, which does not belong in my technical portfolio, but this time it was really inevitable: an intimate moment, of love with your musical instrument on the day of love with your partner.
I draw my photographs on the spouses and also in this case the photography has immersed itself on its protagonist.

The evening ended with a clear sky and a very sweet spring climate that accompanied the cutting of the cake with the parents, with a last free bar by the pool. A worthy conclusion to a beautiful, simple, cheerful wedding like its protagonists.

The album: an A4 photo book
Choosing an album is always a complex moment: give in to the traditions of parents? Or choose a product with modern materials?
The choice of the boys, in reality, did not surprise me: the very simple A4 photo book, which I created together with my very trusted graphic designer, Laura Capuano.
